This blog is not frequently updated because most case-by-case scam reports are now listed in subordinate blogs. At this point in time, most of my efforts are targeted at documenting employment scams in the Suckers Wanted blog.

Advance Fee Fraud: Fondation de France

This is really just a variation on the "you won a lottery you didn't enter" scam. Only the cover story is different: you've been given a grant for which you didn't apply. This is typically advance fee fraud: they want money up front for some fee or other before you get to see any of your promised wealth. Sometimes they send a fake cheque or money order. Basically, don't get involved. Note that the FDF is a real organisation -- it's just that these scammers have nothing to do with it.

In addition to the contact address given in this spam, " fdf_org07@yahoo.fr", a correspondent reports one which uses "fdfgrantoffice967@atmail.org ". These are freemail addresses which anyone could register, anywhere, anytime, and they're probably not the only ones in use for this particular scam.

I just got an email from Executive Sec. Mr.Henry Ces Lerroy advising I was a winner - Yeh right - How can I win something I did not enter!!! How can I be vain enough to think that out of the billions of email addies mine was picked!!!

What amazes me with this type of scam is that these scammers actually beleive we are gullible enough to fall for this !!!

OK so you may get a few who are so greedy to think that they can get money for nothing ...in those case ..well I hate to say this...so I won't and leave it to your imagination as to what I would have said...

but the rest of the world ......well we will just ignore these emails - lie back - wait patiently until these scammers get their just desserts and then - Have a good dam laugh &
/ party !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been getting these emails from the UK and today from this Foudation de France (they can't even spell foundation correct). Of course it is the same old thing asking for name, address, phone number, etc. Contact information is provided. In the beginning, I would reply by saying words to the effect of "FUCK YOU; I'M GOING TO REPORT YOU" but that did not prevent more of the same. Finally, I blocked them each time I would receive one. Now, I'm getting ones from France. I would like to know how these disgusting people can be caught and prosecuted. The internet is blind so anybody can do this type of thing and get away with it. We have an FBI that can intercept phone calls for terrorists but we cannot find out who these scam artists are? I'm puzzled by this. We must have the technology to find these scammers. I guess I will just have to block each one again. I feel as though my email is on every one of these scammers lists so every scammer out there has my email.
Oh, well, it's good to know there are so many of you out there that are as enraged as I am!!
