Another instance of this spam has arrived, with minor changes to stock prices, and so on. This one says that the "huge news" is "NORTHEAST DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION taking possession of industrial storage facility". It was sent from 216.233.99.102 (WHOIS: UUNET, delegated to Intimo Inc, New York, NY, USA) on Mon, 13 Jun 2005 09:30:07 -0000.

More similar-looking stuff has arrived from 200.121.157.122 (WHOIS: Telefonica del Peru) on Sun, 19 Jun 2005 21:50:17 +0000. This one has a space in the stock sign, as in "NH VP". The breaking news this time is that they're "entering into negotiations to purchase a laser engraving and marking facility which is well established in the European medical and technical market." Blah blah.

Please contact enforecement@sec.gov which sends a personalized reply if one includes header whois / ping info.

Apparently the GS-14's at the SEC do follow up on these and bust them.

Complaints to the overseas providers are never acknowledged, hence making complaints to them useless and bumping the complaint process to the government level.

When contacted, the principals of these companies answer residence phones "hello" or have cheap answering machines with the standard greetings.

Suggest a special pump and dump black list site so that responsible ISP's can filter this stuff out.
